January 31, 2016

You were in my room this week playing with toys and I looked down and you were clapping! All by yourself. I tried to get you to do it again, but when I bring out my camera, all you care about is my phone. You are getting better at pulling yourself up on things. You still can't get back down yet. You also started "cruising". You pulled yourself up to standing and was holding onto my nightstand and then you "cruised" over to my bed. You are so sweet and fun and everyone at church loves looking at you and playing with you.

I also wanted to share this quote with you. I thought it was really good. It's basically good advice for life:
Live beneath your means. Return everything you borrow. Stop blaming other people. Admit it when you make a mistake. Give clothes not worn to charity. Do something nice and try not to get caught. Listen more; talk less. Every day take a 30-minute walk. Strive for excellence, not perfection. Be on time. Don't make excuses. Don't argue. Get organized. Be kind to people. Be kind to unkind people. Let someone cut ahead of you in line. Take time to be alone. Cultivate good manners. Be humble. Realize and accept that life isn't fair. Know when to keep your mouth shut. Go an entire day without criticizing anyone. Learn from the past. Plan for the future. Live in the present. Don't sweat the small stuff. It's all small stuff.
I hope you are able to live your life in a way that brings you peace and happiness. I know that only comes through a life centered on Jesus Christ.
I love you so much!
Love, MOM

January 24, 2016

I wanted to include this quote in my blog because I think it is so wise. I know I have had a hard time controlling my temper. I need to be so much better. I do have a lot of regret because of times when I've lost my anger. I hope I can do a better job of speaking with words of love, peace, appreciation, and respect. I love you Son!
Also wanted to give you an update on you. You got your first tooth this week. You are also able to pull yourself up to standing. You pulled yourself up using your toy box and then you leaned over and got stuck on top of your toys. You get up on your knees, but you still prefer army-crawling. Kinsey and Reagan were playing a game and it has some small pieces so I brought you in my room to keep you away from them. Reagan came in and had some of the game pieces including Cinderella's slipper which is a small piece. Reagan was looking for Kinsey and since Kinsey wasn't in my room, she turned around and left. I thought she'd taken the game pieces with her. A few minutes later, I saw the game pieces on the floor and all of them were there except the small Cinderella slipper. I looked everywhere and couldn't find it. I was so worried that you'd swallowed it! I don't think it would have hurt you, but I was still upset. Dad came home not too long after and we both looked for it and couldn't find it. We gave up and had come to the conclusion that you must have swallowed it and then we found it! We have no idea how we hadn't seen it before. We think it may have even gotten caught in your pocket.
I love you so much. I love holding you as you fall asleep. I love seeing your sweet smiles. I am so glad I am your mom.

Hello Sweet Boy. You're growing bigger and stronger. You can now go from laying down to crawling position to sitting up all on your own. You are also beginning to pull yourself up on your knees and have even made it up on your feet a couple of times. You are such a sweet and happy boy! You still like putting everything in your mouth. I tried giving you Gerber 3rd foods this week, but it's a little too chunky for you. With no teeth, you just aren't ready for that yet. Last night you slept for over 9 hours straight! That was awesome! You make lots of sweet sounds and noises, but no words yet. You are still a baldy, but your peach fuzz is turning into hair. I love you so much and hope that you have a happy life. I can't wait to see your life unfold. Love you Sweet Boy!

Hello my sweet 8 month old boy! You are getting so big! You are so sweet and smiley. I love you so much and could kiss your cheeks all the time. I probably kiss them too much because they are starting to get chapped. You are doing a great job eating your baby food. Last night you slept for 9 hours! That was nice. You are starting to figure out how to clap your hands. I hope you always know how special you are to me. I love you so much!!!

It's a New Year!

Hey Sweet Cason! You are going to be 8 months old tomorrow! You are getting so big and you bring so much joy into our family. You are army crawling all over the place. You get up on your knees a little bit, but you mostly stay on your belly when you're moving around. You "talk" but it's mostly cooing or "ba ba ba". Your laugh is so sweet. You laugh most at your brother and sisters but I can get you laughing pretty good when I tickle you. You are a happy baby and I love all the smiles you share with me and others. You still wake up a little more than I would like, but if I have to be up 3 times each night, there's no one else I'd rather be up for. Love you Bubbs.
